GRRR!
I am so over sociology right now.

(And yes the essay was due yesterday, I'm still working on it, I'll hand it in tomorrow.)

And to add to my frustration someone who appears to have some highly contagious nasty chest thing just sat down two tables down from me. They have the most charming barking cough.

I haven't seen the two latest 30 Rock episodes yet, I have them downloaded but I haven't had the time, stop eating my life, La Trobe.

HEE!
I just used the university wireless network to download season three of Once and Again in its entirety.

Good thing it got something done because I haven't written so much as a single word of either of the annotated bibliographies I'm supposed to be writing.

Or come up with titles/theses for the two term papers I'm doing the annotated bibliographies for. At least I know what I'm writing about; the one for Press and Society is on sports journalism in Australia and wether current sports journalism practices are still relevant in Australia and the other for New Media and Society is on the way women participate in fandom with a case study on Sports Night fandom.

I do have three hours to annotate the two books (which I have read) I have to return though so time is still on my side.

Also, totally unrelated but in need of pointing out: XF2 TRAILER!!!

I'll be babbling about it as soon as I'm done here, so probably sometime early tomorrow morning by the time I get home.

*throws things*
I'm going to throw the computer I am using out the damn window if it doesn't start playing nice.

I'm trying to finish off an essay but Microsoft Word has decided that it doesn't like OpenOffice footnoting and has totally stuffed my footnotes up.

The last time this happened I had to retype the whole essay and reinsert all the footnotes, it took me three hours.

Does anyone know how to make OO and Word play nice so I don't have to go through that again?

(Also I realize that 99% of my entries lately have been academic bitching but right now I have no life outside of academia so I apologise. I also do promise to update about the bestest thing ever, Crowded House concerts soon.)

The fact that I have caught an upper respiratory infection and/or viral laryngitis (dry cough, sore throat and hoarseness in addition to feeling even tireder than usual, fun.) is not helping.

ETA: I give up, I'm going to go home and work on it there with my nice working footnotes, coming out here would have been a complete waste of time if not for the fact that I d/led two episodes of 30 Rock and one episode of Once & Again.

So. Pissed. Off.
So I was supposed to do my interview for my Media Studies assessment today, yes that would be the one that is due in 10 days and is worth 40% of my mark, I'm not going to say whom the interview was meant to be with but I will say that the person is a promiment member of the National Union of Students.

I had LTU open day voluenteer training from 2:00pm-4:00pm (is anyone coming to the Bundoora campus open day on Sunday, if so I'll be out on the Simpson Lawn all day, hello sunburn) and the intrerview was supposed to be at 5:15pm, no where near enough time to get from Bundoora to the Trades Hall in Carlton on public transport so I caught a cab, it cost me $36.60 (but that is a whole other rant.)

Anyway come 5:15pm there is no sign of the person I'm supposed to be interview, so Peta who is my work partner for this assessment and who was meant to be sound engineer for the interview waited around until about 5:25pm when I finally ring the person I'm interviewing to see where the hell they are only to find out that they are at a "speak out" (read drinking session, I've been to a few in my time) that they had forgotten about and can't come but we can do the interview with her at the pub where the "speak out" is taking place. This for several reasons including but not limited to the fact that interviewing someone who is half in the bag is completely unethical isn't a viable option so she rescheduled for Wednesday at 1:30pm.

Jesus Christ, I confirmed the interview on Wednesday and again on Thursday, I spent $36.60 on a cab getting to the interview location and worst of all for me I had put myself through a sleepless night and spent most of the day panicking (I mean in the my body releasing massive amonuts of adrenaline and cortisol into my system at random intervals way) for absolutly fucking nothing.

And I have to go through it all again on Wednesday (not the cab part but everything else unless my personality decides to undergo a massive change between now and then) and to add to my stress levels I will only have five damn days to edit the thing once it is done, GUH!

On the positive side once I could eat again, after getting over most of the stress/panic and some of the anger I stopped in St. Kilda on the way home and got myself a huge-assed serving of mint-choc chip ice-cream from New Zealand Natural, YUM!
